Best night of my life!

My family and friends surprised me with an 18th birthday party last night and I have never felt more loved and blessed. Words can not even describe how much I enjoyed last night and how I am still on a high from the party.
I am the luckiest girl alive.

For my 18th...

I would love...
Barnes and Noble Nook!

To go skydiving!

Rain boots!
A Drew Brees jersey. :) Because if you know me, you know I adore him!

My dream list.

Let it snow, let it snow, let it snow!

Yesterday I did absolutely nothing but watch Chuck and relax (though, I am NOT complaining because it was magnificent) and today I took a day trip to the snow with family (love them) and then went to a Christyear party with my friends. It's a Christmas/New Years party since we couldn't have itbefore Christmas.

We had a White Elephant gift exchange and the one I decided to open was a giant box that contained a small gift card in it but had sheets upon sheets of wrapping paper. It was insane yet fun!

Honoring Oprah

Jennifer Hudson did a wonderful job singing a song from The Color Purple last night for honoring several people, including Oprah. Just beautiful.

Chuck!

I love Chuck.
I bought season 1 yesterday and I have been watching it basically non-stop ever since. I just adore Zachary Levi. And his best friend on the show, Morgan. (I don't know the actors name.) If you don't watch it, it comes back on in January and so you can start then! Like I am going to do!
Have a great day!
Adieu!

Happy Birthday Jesus!

1. Sister, Grandma, and I all have matching Christmas sweaters. :)
2. Sister as Mary in the Nativity play. And yes, that's a real baby she's holding. Oh, and a real man (or Junior) playing Joseph.
3. Adorable snow man at my aunts house. Her house was decorated magnificently.

I hope you had a very merry Christmas!

Merry Christmas Eve

This week has been wonderful. I went to the Bayside Christmas Eve Service 5 of 15 (crazy, I know), baked all day Tuesday, was with my friends Wednesday, and celebrated Christmas with my dads side yesterday. Their tree wasn't decorated and that was definitely not ok with me, so we took the honor of decorating their tree.
I also stopped by my favorite book store in their area and picked up 2 new books. One of them is Oscar Wilde's The Importance of Being Earnest and I am in love! I already read one play last night and stayed up way too late for my standards. :)

Anywho, Merry Christmas Eve everyone!

Four Years in the Making

Four years ago I met this girl (Amanda) in my Algebra I class and ever since we have been great friends. She is the most uplifting person I know and can easily make you smile on the darkest of days.
On Friday she is turning 18 and it is crazy to think that we, the ones who feel like they'll never grow up, are going to be adults! Where did the time go? Weren't we just awkward freshman with braces and anxiety, only wishing for a boyfriend?? Now we are mature (a little) and moving on to college in several months.
Let the journey begin!

Baking Bonanza!

Katie and I baked all day today. The fudge and peppermint bark turned out delicious but the sugar cookies tasted salty and nasty. Oh well! Always next year...

Now I'm off to wrap some presents and watch another Christmas favorite, Miracle on 34th Street, the newest one.

Terrified

Zachary Levi and Katherine McPhee. Enough said. Beautiful.

The Family Stone

Is another one of my favorite Christmas movies and all around favorite movies. I love the family dynamics and how I am completely Susannah, and my sister is Amy. Right now Judy Garland is in the background singing Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas and this is my favorite scene of the movie. What's you're favorite Christmas movie?

"Faithful friends who are dear to us,
will be near to us once more.
Someday soon we all will be together.
If the fates allow. Until then, we'll have to muddle through
somehow. So have yourself a merry little Christmas now."

Best Lunch Ever.

Today, December 20th, 2010, I had the best lunch ever. I took my aunt from out of town to our best bakery/cafe called Karen's and it was wonderful! We had a salmon pasta (hard to tell, but that's what was in the cup. Obviously we ate most of it because it was sooo good) which was equipped with edamame beans, red onions, basil, olive oil dressing, and salmon and bow tie noodles. To finish it off I had an Izze and we got 2 free peppermint paddies (first picture) that were to DIE for. The peppermint wasn't too overpowering and the tree was adorable.

Now I'm off to a Christmas Eve Service, 4 days away from Christmas Eve. :)
Adieu!

We Wish You a Merry Christmas

So my favorite Christmas movie, besides It's a Wonderful Life, is Elf. I can basically quote any scene from the movie and definitely consider it a classic.
Anyways, I babysit these two girls who understand my obsession with Christmas, and so every time I babysit them, we watch something Christmas-y, no matter what time of year it is. Last year we watched The Grinch and belted out Where Are You Christmas? for about an hour.

This year, we watched Elf and made Elf spaghetti. :) We put all the toppings Buddy put on his spaghetti in the movie, and needless to say, it tasted disgusting. But the process was fun and the fact that we were pretending to be Buddy was even better. (Suggestion: When making Elf spaghetti, don't add Pop-Tart. The consistency ruins it all.)
Also, last week, I met Santa. Not kidding. Doesn't he look just like how you would picture Santa? Come to find out he actually does play Santa as a side job during the holidays! :) So me and my friend, Katie, HAD to get a picture with real Santa.

Have a great day and 7 days till Christmas!

Ugly Christmas sweaters anyone?

I declared yesterday as National Ugly Christmas Sweater day because it was the last day before break and I was dying to break out my Christmas sweater I bought at the thrift store a month ago. I was definitely the most comfortable I've ever been and loved the interesting glances I got. But honestly, Kyle's (the only guy in the picture) is amazing. But then again, mine had shoulder pads...

Oh and did you notice the photobomber in the first picture? That's Morgan, he's awesome. Anyone who photobombs pictures is a great person in my book.

Why, hello!

So I am not a beginning blogger. I have a tumblr, but sometimes I feel like tumblr has you hide behind pictures other people took. Therefore, I am beginning blog numero dos.

To introduce myself, I'll let you know that I am a high school senior and am embarking in the beginning of my life in one more semester, and that beginning is college. Scary, I know. But I figure if millions of other human beings have mastered it, or at least adequately mastered it, than I can. Also, I am in love with Christmas and everything and anything vintage. But you will find all of this out over time. :)

Today is the first day of winter break and I am planning on spending a lot of time baking, reading, watching Christmas movies, being with friends and family, and laughing a lot. Because as Audrey Hepburn said, "The best calorie burner is laughing." I'm honestly ecstatic to read something I CHOOSE to read instead of Hamlet or Macbeth or Heart of Darkness. No more please!

Ok, but you'll see in the days to come how my break comes about. So for now, I'll end for your own sake. I promise they won't all be this long. :)
Adieu!
