A Little Peek

Last Saturday we had my dad's 50th birthday party at our house and it was a huge
success. Everyone had a good time and I was running around like crazy
doing little errands making sure everything ran smoothly. It was exhausting
but ultimately worth it to see my dad so happy. The pictures above are
images of the delicious food we had and the flowers were picked up from the
San Francisco flower mart and arranged ourselves.

So there's a little peek into the party. :)
I'll be back tomorrow with an outfit post.

I'll Be Back

I'm heading off on a mini getaway today with these people (minus my cousin Amanda
in the red) and I couldn't be more excited. While I'm away
there won't be any posting but I'm sure I'll have plenty of photos to share when I'm back.

Ta-ta for now!

All Around the Web

 {I love this print I found off Pinterest. I can always use the reminder that
we can do anything we set our mind to.}

 {This picture calms me every time I look at it. We had my dad's 50th birthday party
this past weekend and placed hydrangeas on every table. It was perfect.}

{I found a great essay on excitement and change here.}

{We lost a very dear family friend this weekend and I was comforted by

I hope your week is started off right with a fabulous Monday. :)

Friday Inspiration

I don't know if the new New Girl poster counts as inspiration but guys...
I AM SO EXCITED FOR THIS SEASON!

Countdown to September 17th with me??

Also can we please acknowledge how Nick is doing turtle face? Perfection.

Let's Review:: Stitch Fix

Stitch Fix is a company that specifically picks out clothes for you based
on your style profile online. It's $20 for the styling fee but that fee can be
applied to any of the clothing you decide to keep as well! If you don't like
anything, you send it back in their pre-packaged bag. :)

So I thought, why not??
I was so excited to receive my beautiful curated package and see
all the goodies that they picked out for me! It felt like Christmas!!

The above is what I received in my package! 4 shirts and 1 pair of pants.
Here's my review:

 When I first pulled this shirt out I thought I'd LOVE it because I love
stripes and nautical. When I put it on though, it seemed too young for me.
I returned it.

 I'm not a huge fan of these kinds of patterns (unless it's floral) so I already
wasn't too fond of this shirt. When I put it on it also seemed a little young.
I returned it.

 This is a white high-low sheer shirt that seemed too big when I pulled it out
of the box and was correct. It made me look a little frumpy.
I returned it.

 I liked this one when I pulled it out of the box but when I put it on it had
the same problem as the white shirt. It was not very flattering.
I returned it.

The last item was a pair of jeans and while they fit perfectly, they were boot cut
and I am not a fan of boot cut jeans. Also, I can't wear jeans a lot
living in Arizona.
I returned it.

As you can see, I returned everything they sent me. The styling service is supposed
to get better each time you request a Fix but I have to say, I was a little disappointed
in this Fix. 3 sheer shirts is a lot of the same and I could have used a skirt
or dress thrown in instead of 4 shirts.

Overall, it was a good experience but I probably won't request another Fix.
Have you tried out Stitch Fix?

Outfit Post- Bright and High Waisted

You must think I only own neon colored clothing...
I promise I don't.

I wear high waisted shorts and skirts so much though that anything else feels
wrong at this point in my life. Is that bad? This outfit was perfect
yesterday for shopping and hanging out for my day off.

Anywho, happy Wednesday!! My sister gets to go to the One Direction
concert tonight and I am incredibly bitter. #1Dfanforlife

Here's the facts:
shirt {was my moms from a while ago} shorts {urban outfitters last year} necklace {vintage from my grandma}

A Day in San Francisco

 {the bridge playing peek-a-boo}

Earlier this month one of my best friends, Amanda, my sister Sammie, and I
decided to spend the day in San Francisco to escape the heat of Sacramento.
It was the perfect escape filled with a picnic in the park, a visit to the
Golden Gate, shopping, and of course having soup in a bread bowl
from Boudin bakery.

It was one of those days where I felt incredibly blessed to live in California
where day trips to exciting places are easy and a change in weather
is always possible.

A Recent Obsession:: Paper Source

I was in San Francisco recently visiting some friends I studied abroad with
and we stumbled upon a Paper Source. I was in need of a new planner
for the school year and had a feeling this was the place of dreams.

I was definitely right because the second I walked in I felt a pull towards the
gorgeous planners and the one above caught my eye immediately.
My friend and I bought the same one because it was just too beautiful.
I mean, look at the gold chevron, the font and all the columns for writing
down homework and social plans!!!
I was a little hesitant on the size because, yes, it is pretty large for
a planner I'll have in my backpack but one of my biggest pet peeves with
planners is not having enough space to write in so I decided that
having room to write will take precedence over the size of the planner.

Do you have a favorite place to buy planners?
Oh, and Happy Monday!!
