Summer Concerts- Tim Mcgraw

Tim Mcgraw put on a fantastic show! I'd seen him once before about four years ago
and it was just as fun the second time around. He is in the best shape of his life right
now and my, oh, my does it show. ;) So much fun!

and here's what I wore:

I obviously had to dress country but I wanted to add a little glam to the
outfit so I added the necklace. I got my cowboy boots in Nashville when my
family went a few years back and so not only am I obsessed with them and
how comfortable they are, but they also hold a special place in my heart
for a city that I adore.

It was a great night and I truly believe summer was made for country concerts. :)

Here are the facts:
shirt {Old Navy last year} shorts {American Eagle} boots {from Nashville} necklace {Anthropologie}

Neon Love- Outfit Post

{obviously feeling pretty awkward...}

I am totally not comfortable with this whole taking pictures of myself in public{see here}while
people are around like the workers working on our backyard right now
(or having whoever is around take pictures of me, this time being my sister)
but I do love outfit posts so I guess I'll just suck it up. ;)

I love how bright and summer-y this outfit is. I have no problem investing in a large
amount of shorts because that's pretty much all I can wear back in Tucson.
This shirt is perfect as well because it's a little airy and the perfect light jean color with
a soft collar that I just love.
And to finish it all off I added the necklace to make it a bit more fancy and the gold
belt to honestly, keep the shorts up. (That's what belts are for right? Not just accent
pieces?)

Here are the facts:
shirt- picked up while in Paris {New Look London} shorts and necklace {jcrew} belt {H&M}

Hi. Hello. I'm back!

{sisters and I in tahoe for the 4th}

Now that didn't take long... what, like a month for me to return?
I have finally found life after being abroad and while I've been busy, I have
missed blogging quite a bit. I decided if I was going to start blogging again
I plan on switching things up a bit.

So without further adieu, I warmly welcome you to my "new" blog, Day by Day!
I plan on sharing bits and pieces of my life, outfits, and pretty things that
inspire me. I LOVE my new layout done by Emily at Designer Blogs
and I can't wait to come back to life on this little blog of mine. :)

Tomorrow I have a fun outfit post to kick things off! So stick around
and say hello! I'd love to get to know ya! :)

In other news,
it's royal baby day!
Let's all have a cup o' tea and cheers to Kate and Will! :)
I know I'm going to.

Where I'm At...

While on Facebook, I am constantly asked where I live. Are you asked this as well? Those Facebook techies really want to know where I live and to be honest, I don't know what to tell them. While in Italy it was easy to place my location there but now I'm back. Do I live in California or do I live in Arizona? Do I want to/can I claim either?

Yesterday I was observing a Speech Therapist for some observation hours I need for my major and I was wearing a name tag that said my name and my school. So the woman said, "Oh you go to the University of Arizona! Welcome!" She welcomed me to my own home state. For some odd reason I was offended by this and wanted to rip the name tag off and toss any connections to Arizona out the window. "I don't want to be associated with Arizona! I don't live there! I live here, in Sacramento, just like you!" I screamed in my head. But do I?

Being 20 is weird and kind of a middle place. I'm just fumbling through the motions and trying to stay afloat. But for the time being, and while I figure out where I want to claim my location, I am going to take a long break from blogging.

I'll continue reading my favorite blogs (you know who you are) but Faith, Trust, and Pixie Dust is going to be quiet for awhile.

Thanks for being a friend. :) I'll see you around.

What I'm Loving...

I have had my Kate Spade rubber iPhone case for about a year now and while
it has been wonderful and nothing tragic has happened to my phone because
of it, I think I am ready for a change.
Unfortunately, the funds are not quite in order for a case at the moment, but
once it's time I will definitely be ordering one of these beauties!
What do you think of my selection?

Life Lately

 {Enjoying the lake in my town.}

 {Watching my little sister graduate!! Can't believe it's been two years
since I graduated.}

 {Wandering around the rose garden in Downtown Sacramento.}

 {Visiting Lake Tahoe and Truckee a.k.a. my favorite places}

{Enjoying my bright blue running shoes. Today's run was brutal.}

I guess life has been pretty exciting lately. :) I've been taking everything one day at
a time and it seems to be working for me. I know God has a pretty awesome plan
for the rest of my summer and I can't wait to see what that is.

How's your life been lately?

Constants and Consistency

I take great comfort in constants and consistency.

I breathe easier when I know I can rely on something/someone. Don't we all? I blame this love of consistency with my lack of love for Arizona and its weather. I crave seasons and that change that occurs every few months when you feel the air becoming brisker or warmer and you see the Earth embracing change with open arms. Arizona does not have seasons and it stresses me out. To be blunt.

I've recently taken up running. Mostly to make my body feel less foreign after studying abroad in Italy where food is all part of the experience, and then partly because it provides me with a constant. Every morning I go for a run and then figure out the rest of the day from there. But I have that one thing that is constant and it's nice. Summer has always stressed me out a little because it's so very loose. But that's also why I like it. It's a confusing relationship.

Much of the time this need for consistency and constants in my life causes me stress because there may be a lack of it and it also causes me to relax. I've realized I can have a mixture of constants and chaos within the same day and you know what? I survive. Go figure.

So this is something about me. And I apparently really love "C" words...

{also this picture has absolutely nothing to do with this post, and that seems to be a trend around here, but I just realized that the people seem like they are walking up to Heaven and it kind of puts me at ease.}

I Have to Admit Something...

I'm slightly embarrassed to say this but I recently deleted someone off Facebook because
she is in Orvieto right now, on the same program I was on, and I just can't
bear to look at her constant stream of photos.

I think I can't bear to see her photos and hear her stories because that's my place. That's where
I met some incredible people, experienced new things, and I don't want to look at
someone else's photos and have it change my view of Orvieto.

I don't want to see Orvieto through anyone else's eyes, only mine. Is that selfish?
I think it has a little bit to do with self preservation and helping with my adjustment
back to regular life.

Maybe eventually I'll be able to hear other peoples stories of Orvieto. But for now I
want to keep my memories locked safe within my head, this blog, and my pictures.

I'm a Little Stuck

{photo via Tumblr}

I love reading other peoples blogs and every once in a while finding inspiration for my own,
but lately (ever since I returned from Italy) the inspiration and desire to write a
post has dwindled and I feel like I just need to figure some things out in my life right now.
Get myself together after living abroad kind of things.

I'm sure any person who has studied abroad has felt this way, like they changed
while they were gone yet they come home and feel slightly the same and completely different
at the same time. Like life almost stopped and then continued once I came back.
So now I am trying to pick up the pieces and figure out my life back in the States.
What do I want to do? What kind of person do I want to be? How do I want
to improve myself? And honestly, seeing all these blogs and comparing mine to others
and my life to others is not helping very much. So perhaps this is where I take a break.

Have you experience this kind of need for a break in blogging before?
