The world is a carousel of color

The title of this post is taken from the World of Color soundtrack
which absolutely makes me tear up every time I hear it. Call me
five years old but I don't mind.

Disneyland was incredible. Being in my favorite place with
most of my friends was better than I could have ever hoped for.
Everyone was happy and I laughed more than I have in a while.
Plus we got a lot of "Congratulations!" walking around in
our grad hats. :) Definitely wearing it to graduation.

Off to the happiest place on earth!

I've packed my ears...
My sweathshirt and waterbottle...
and am off to see her! (Rapunzel for those of you who haven't
seen Tangled.)
Katie and I are off to Disneyland tomorrow morning and I'm
so excited! But before we leave, we'll be waking up at
literally the crack of dawn to watch the Royal Wedding!
Auf Wiedersehen!
"I do believe in fairies...I do!"

Some may call me Type A

(Can't get over these roses from our front yard!)
I'm that girl. The one who already has her children's
names picked out, her ideal house, and her career all planned out.
I like to call myself a planner. But some may just call it Type A. :)

Anywho, my friend Matt informed me of a new name I absolutely
love! Ready for it?... Raylan!
Oh, it's love. I picture an adorable blonde boy/girl running around. (Gender
neutral) You see, I like unique names. Not anything like Apple
(no offense Gwenyth) but more along the lines of Georgia, Everett etc.
Definitely loving this new addition
to my "possible names for the very far future" list.

Also, I got my new blue bathing suit in the mail today! Yay!
And I'm obsessed with the show, The Voice! So good! Check it out
next Tuesday!

Some motivation for you and me.

Just got home from an excellent workout (needed it after
all the cheese and pizza I ate on my trips) and realized something
was off at the gym. Come to find out, they took all the T.V.'s out!
How am I supposed to watch Oprah anymore? Gosh darnit.
Anyways, it was frustrating. Enjoy the quote.
"Pain has a way of clipping our wings and keeping us from being able to fly. And if left unresolved for very long, you can almost forget that you were ever created to fly in the
first place."- Paul Young

Look at the stars, see how they shine for you

Good song, good song...
One of my favorite soothing songs. :)
Today I finally hung out with Katie again and we decided to
travel on down to the park. I loved how these trees were not
only Christmas colors but were just beautiful next to each other.
Audrey Hepburn=love
Katie on artificial rocks (mountain?)

We ended the day seeing Water for Elephants, which we both
decided was a beautiful film and a great movie, but the animal
abuse was definitely hard to take. I shed a few tears, not going to lie.

And with that, I leave you with a wonderful quote by
none other than Mother Teresa.

"We are all pencils in the hand of God writing love letters to the world."

We don't live in a perfect world

which is good. i would not want to live in a world where everything was sunshine and rainbows. but ever since Papa died, family outings have been depressing. i can't blame them, my family, because i know all of this is hard. this is our first easter without him and while i miss him as much as the next person, i have a hard time dwelling on his passing. i prefer to see him in my everyday life and look back on memories i have with him. everyday something reminds me of him and it brings a smile to my face.

i just wish my family could be this way also. i understand it must be more difficult to lose a father, god forbid i can't imagine losing mine... but because of the circumstances and the passing of time, i have grown to accept his passing and live my life with his smile and laugh always in the back of my mind. i hope my family can get to this point also.

i don't mean to ramble and throw words out on this page without any rhyme or reason, but i just noticed a trend this easter and felt the need to vent. that is what this blog is for right? to express feelings and let others in on what you're experiencing?

the next few months will be difficult, with my graduation coming up and him not being there, to my grammie's birthday... but i plan on including him in on these events through prayer and knowing he has my back. :) it was a wonderful easter for the most part, i just had some thoughts.
thanks for listening or i guess, reading!

Big News!

Big big news!

I'm going to the University of Arizona next year!!!!!!!!

This is when a lot of screaming and jumping up and down occurs.
I am so excited! I absolutely love this school, and last night my parents
gave me the thumbs-up that I can go there!
If you see a girl walking down the street tomorrow with a grin
the size of Texas across her face... that's me.

Also, The Help trailer came out today! It's going to be so good!

Jet Setting Girl Part II

Who knew cactuses (cacti?) could be so beautiful, right?
Those flowers are cactus flowers and are stunning! I pretty
much fell in love with the University of Arizona. The weather
was fantastic and the campus was beautiful. Just look
at the architecture of the building in the first picture! I'd
show you more campus pictures, but I don't want to bore you.
Thanks for reading!

Jet Setting Girl Part I

I had the time of my life on my trip. My feelings for the South
only grew and made me even more desperate to move there
someday. I am now an expert traveler! :) Just kidding, but it feels
like it. I loved everything from the hats (large and wonderful)
to the rocking chairs at Cracker Barrel, to the people dressed up
as people in the Revolutionary War, and finally to visiting Churchill
Downs. Oh yeah, and vintage doorknobs in my aunt's house
are wonderful also.
Stay tuned for the University of Arizona section of this series.
